Centralia High School Alumni Association

March 21, 2007 Organizational Meeting

Reid Shipley opened the meeting discussing installing the following temporary officers:

President – Brad Coffey
V-President – Guy Holtkamp
Treasurer- Bill Sprehe
Secretary – Wes Monken

The next meeting will be held Tuesday, April 24th at 7pm.

Presentation of the proposed bylaws. Members are encouraged to review the proposed bylaws. They will be voted on at the next meeting.

Membership fees were discussed. It was discussed to offer recent grads a grace period of several years.

The association is looking for members to join committees. The committees are developed as follows:

Budget & Finance
Activities
Nominating
Membership
Scholarship

Marietta Broughton recommended finding the oldest CHS alumni and picking a recent alumni and having a photograph in the paper signing them up as our first two members.

Assembling a database was discussed. Several existing lists were going to be combined for marketing purposes. Many of the lists are from class reunions.

A goal of establishing an annual scholarship was discussed. A goal was established to have the first scholarship given in 2008.

The website www.chsalumniassociation.org was revealed. Bert Griffin developed the site. One of his students assisted with the forums page. The site is very comprehensive. He is looking for volunteers to assist him with keeping certain the site current.

The meeting was adjourned.
